Originally established by the Kronseder family of Regensburg, Germany in 1993, HANOR’s roots in commercial pig production in the United States dates back to 1978 when the Kronseder family established their first farm, a 1000 sow farrow-to-finish operation. The Kronseder family is involved in agricultural companies throughout the world. These include the commercial pork production in Germany, grass seed genetic improvement in Germany, crop-based farming in the United States and both commercial and seed stock production of swine in the United States. The Kronseder family also owns and controls manufacturing-based companies throughout the world, including their core business Krones AG. Krones AG is a world leader in engineering and manufacturing high-speed machinery for the labeling, bottling, canning and packing industries.

Today, HANOR is a major player in the U.S. pork chain, adding value via further processing, by selling 1.4 million market hogs each year, and through its genetic breeding program which supports an integrated pig production system processing 9 million pigs annually.
